Any student new to Tarleton, whether they are freshmen or transfer students, is automatically assigned to a peer mentor.\u00a0Tarleton has 25-30 upperclassmen students who are employed on campus to serve others.\u00a0Peer mentors offer guidance, support, and connections to resources throughout every student\u2019s first year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each student receives an email with the subject line, \u201cSchedule your peer mentoring appointment.\u201d\u00a0In this email is a link to schedule with their assigned mentor.\u00a0The student just has to choose the day and time they would like to meet.\u00a0Peer mentors always meet on campus in convenient locations.\u00a0They offer casual, laid-back one-on-one meetings where the student has full control over the topic of conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peer mentors also host events throughout the year for students to get to know Tarleton peer mentors in a group setting while having some fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who met with their peer mentor in Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 showed a 10% higher rate of enrolling in the following semester versus those who did not meet with their mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
