STEPHENVILLE, Texas—U.S. Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, held a Congressional Art Competition reception at Tarleton in Stephenville on May 11.

The winner of the competition from Conaway’s 11th congressional district was Megan Cowart, a high school junior from Llano. Tarleton art instructors served as judges for the competition.

Since 1982, hundreds of thousands of high school students from around the country have participated in the Congressional Art Competition. One winning entry from each congressional district will be displayed in the tunnel connecting the U.S. Capitol and the Cannon House Office Building.

The winning student and a parent or guardian will receive airfare and accommodations in Washington to attend the unveiling ceremony this summer.
