Volunteer Fair

Tarleton State University

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The Stephenville Chamber of Commerce and the Stephenville and Tarleton Branches of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) are hosting a Volunteer Fair for Erath County at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the United Cooperative Services Community Room.

The fair is an effort to bring together nonprofit organizations in need of volunteers with community residents willing to help. The goal is to encourage community members to educate and familiarize themselves with the needs of their fellow neighbors and the agencies that stretch out their arms to tend to those neighbors' needs.

“This is a great event to find a place to connect your talents to a local organization that relies on volunteers. There is no greater reward than giving your time and energy to make a positive difference in the lives of others,” said Jennifer Grandpre, director of operations for the chamber.

Anyone in the community from high school youth to senior adults can participate. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

For more information, call AAUW President Kathy Smith at 254-592-2379 or the chamber at 965-5313.
