STEPHENVILLE, Texas—With the arrival of the Fall 2013 semester comes the addition of several new parking lots and the start-up of a new on-campus shuttle service.

During the summer, the university completed several new parking lots for students who commute or reside on campus. An expansion of lot P9, designated as a red zone or residential parking lot, is located across from the Welcome Center on McIlhaney Street.

Several gravel lots denoted as purple zones and dedicated to commuter students were also added during the summer, including lot P39 due for completion the first week of September, located just west of the university’s tennis court complex on St. Felix street between West Sloan and Tarleton streets.

Also new this fall is an expansion of P23 to include a gravel lot for commuter students. The purple zone lot is located at the corner of Vanderbilt and Cain streets, adjacent to the Bosque Crossing apartment complex.

There is also a free, on-campus shuttle service this fall, providing easy on and off transport across campus from lot P20 located on the west side of Tarleton’s Memorial Stadium. The pick-up point will be at the west stadium gates and ticket booth.

The shuttle service, using eight-passenger golf carts, will pick up students and transport them to drop points on Tarleton, Lillian and Vanderbilt streets on campus. Drop points include the intersection of Rome and Sloan streets near Wisdom Gym, the intersection of Tarleton and Lillian streets near Davis Hall and University Park, and the intersection of Vanderbilt and Cain streets between the Dining Hall and Engineering Technology Building.

The shuttle service will operate weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
