STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Tarleton’s rodeo teams at this year’s College National Finals Rodeo will be in the television spotlight Friday evening.

The best action from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s premier event will be featured on ESPNU. The college rodeo action begins airing Friday, Aug. 16, at 5 p.m. with ESPNU televising two hours of competition from the 65th annual CNFR, held in Casper, Wyo., June 5-16. The second show will begin at 6 p.m.

Additional airings of each show can be seen throughout the month of August.

ESPNU’s programming will include action from the finals as well as interviews and features from the entire finals week and portions of the CNFR awards ceremony. Hosting the ESPNU College Rodeo series are Boyd Polhamus and Bob Tallman.

Tarleton was represented by 11 students among the more than 400 qualifiers from over 100 colleges and universities at this year’s CNFR, an event that’s known as the “Rose Bowl of College Rodeo.”

Both the Tarleton men’s and women’s teams captured third place at the CNFR, while Billy Bob Brown earned the national title in team roping and this year’s All-Around Cowboy award. Prior to the CNFR, Tarleton’s teams won the NIRA Southwest Region men’s and women’s championships.
