STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The Heroes of Midlothian Foundation is holding a 5K Benefit Run May 18 honoring Nave SEAL Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield, who were slain Feb. 2.

In addition to the run, the day will feature food, artisan, jewelry, and craft vendor booths. Activities will take place at the softball complex near the high school football stadium.

All proceeds will support the foundation’s mission to assist the families of fallen heroes, and to establish a Memorial Scholarship Fund in the names of Chris Kyle, Lyle Gordon and Chad Littlefield.

Gordon was a 1993 Midlothian High School graduate. He was serving with the U.S. Marines in Iraq in 2005 when his CH-53 helicopter crashed, killing all on board.

The foundation is a nonprofit, all-volunteer corporation created earlier this year to “honor the names and memories of fallen heroes,” according to its website.
