STEPHENVILLE, Texas—A panel of three business professionals and entrepreneurs imparted their knowledge on Tarleton students, faculty and staff during the 2013 ROTC Leadership Symposium, April 3, sharing insights on the application of leadership from their personal and professional perspectives.

Sponsored by Tarleton’s Texan Battalion, the Leadership Symposium welcomed Kathy Acock, president of San Antonio-based Alpha Building Corporation; Jacob Johnson, president of Dallas-based AAA Data Communications; and Dwain Mayfield, president of Fort Worth-based ADM Global Resources.

Attended by cadets from the Texan Battalion ROTC cadre, along with other students and members of the Tarleton community, the symposium provided attendees the opportunity to expand their knowledge of and application of various leadership styles and methods, motivational strategies, employee expectations and personal traits.

The panel discussion, moderated by Lt. Col. Jason Vranes, professor of military science, was designed to elicit valuable information for attendees, who were asked to later compare and contrast the guests’ leadership styles applied while overseeing the operations of their respective businesses.

A reception honoring the panelist followed the symposium in the Thompson Student Center ballrooms allowing students and others to visit with the panelists and to ask additional questions.

This week’s symposium follows the 2012 ROTC Leadership Symposium, which featured a panel of athletic administrators and coaches.
