STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The W. K. Gordon Center in Thurber will celebrate local history by hosting open houses in March for current and former residents of Gordon, Mingus and Strawn. The three communities co-existed with Thurber and share a history.

Current and former residents of the three towns will receive free admission on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on their designated weekend. Mingus Days will be March 9-10, Gordon Days will be March 16-17, and Strawn Days will follow on March 23-24.

The W.K. Gordon Center is a museum and research facility of Tarleton State University located at exit 367 on Interstate 20 midway between Fort Worth and Abilene. Motorists from the west should leave I-20 at exit 363 to avoid construction delays.
