STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Chelsea Braune, a Tarleton senior agricultural communications student and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, has been selected to participate in a service immersion trip to El Salvador Dec. 29-Jan. 5. Her selection as a scholarship recipient comes through the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values.

The experience brings fraternity and sorority leaders from across the United States together for a week of service in El Salvador. Participants will engage in service learning, cultural exchanges, awareness building and self-reflection and development.

“The experience I am about to have is a huge stepping stone for my personal and professional life,” Braune said. “It intertwines two things I am passionate about; service and leadership to others and inspiring others to follow their vision, just like I’m doing.”

The Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values, headquartered in Fort Collins, Colo., is an organization of fraternity and sorority life professionals and students from the Midwest and Western regions of the country. Its mission is to encourage fraternity and sorority members to exemplify and live ethical values. This is achieved through its conferences, programs and immersion experiences for its members.

“We are extremely proud of Chelsea’s selection as a scholarship recipient to participate in the El Salvador Immersion Trip,” said Dr. Ashley Tull, assistant vice president for student life studies. “Her selection is representative of her leadership while a student and member of our Greek community at Tarleton State University. We look forward to her returning to campus and sharing her experiences with her peers.”
