STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Celebrating its 16th season, the Theatre at Tarleton’s Summer Studio will present six performances of Neil Simon’s Last of the Red Hot Lovers, beginning Thursday, July 26 at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center workshop theatre.

Considered one of Simon’s most amusing comedies, Last of the Red Hot Lovers focuses on Barney, a 47-year-old seafood restaurant owner who feels that life is passing him by. Barney, who married his high school sweetheart, attempts to shake up his life by having an exciting, romantic fling with a woman who is not his wife.

The story takes place over a period of nine months as Barney invites three different women to his mother’s Manhattan apartment in an attempt to have an afternoon of extramarital sex.

Due to adult language and situations, the Summer Studio has rated this production for mature audiences only.

Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. each night on July 26, 27 and 28, and Aug. 2, 3 and 4. Tickets will go on sale at the Fine Arts Center box office beginning July 23, and will be available to the public, weekdays from 3-6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for Tarleton faculty, staff, students and senior citizens.

All seating is general admission and seating is limited.
