STEPHENVILLE, Texas—The Department of Fine Arts and Theatre at Tarleton present their final show of the 2013-2014 season, Wendy Wasserstein’s “The Heidi Chronicles,” a 1998 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which opens Tuesday, April 8 at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center theatre.

The play will be performed each evening from April 8-12, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults; $8 for senior citizens, students, faculty and staff; and $5 for Tarleton students with a valid ID. Tickets are on sale now at the Fine Arts Center box office.

“The Heidi Chronicles” is a coming-of-age story about feminist Heidi Holland. Intended for mature audiences, the play follows Heidi’s life from high school to her career as an art historian more than 20 years later. As the status of women changes throughout the socially and politically active 1960s and 1970s and into the success-oriented 1980s, Heidi strives to have it all.

Comprised of a series of interrelated scenes, Heidi gradually distances herself from her friends, she watches them move from the idealism and political radicalism of their college years through militant feminism and, eventually, back to the materialism that they had sought to reject in the first place.

The upcoming play is directed by Mark Holtorf, assistant professor of fine arts, and is produced by the following lead cast and crew members: Heather Capps (Heidi Holland), Cody Daniel (Scoop Rosenbaum), Mary Meron (Susan Johnston), Rolan Garcia (Peter Patrone), Jen Lewis (scenery design), Hank Baldree (costume design) and Sara McGraff (sound design).
