STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Tarleton State University, in conjunction with The Texas A&M University System, honored Texas state Sens. Jane Nelson and Craig Estes with A&M System Chancellor John Sharp’s “Friend of The Texas A&M University System Award.”

The senators were honored for their efforts at a March 4 reception in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center. Tarleton President F. Dominic Dottavio and Tommy Williams, a former state senator and now vice chancellor of federal and state relations for The Texas A&M University System, presented the awards.

“Through our shared commitment to the future of Texas, The Texas A&M University System and our state legislators are leading the way for quality higher education across our nation,” Dottavio said. “It is a pleasure to work with dedicated public servants such as Senator Nelson and Senator Estes, and I commend their efforts during the 83rd legislative session.”
