Parking lot changes planned ahead of O. A. Grant construction
Tarleton State University
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Thursday, March 7, 2013
STEPHENVILLE, Texas—University officials announced this week that campus parking assignments for some students, faculty and staff will be affected ahead of the planned renovations to the O. A. Grant Building.
Beginning April 1, parking reassignments to accommodate construction activities in the O. A. Grant area will take effect. As part of the plan, approximately 80 faculty and staff members currently assigned to lot P-10 (Blue Zone spaces Nos. 177-252) will be required to begin using lot P-11 (Red Zone), while on-campus residents in Bender and Ferguson Residential Halls will be asked to temporarily park in lot P-30 (Purple Zone) or any other commuter parking lot.
As part of the parking plan, which received approval from the university’s Executive Cabinet, the spaces in lot P-11 will be painted with a numbering system during the Spring Break prior to the planned faculty and staff parking reassignments.
All vehicles belonging to on-campus residents who are currently parking in P-11 are asked to vacate the lot by noon on Friday, March 8, in order for crews to begin painting during Spring Break. Students may relocate their vehicles across the street to P-30, or any other designated commuter/Purple Zone lot on campus.
Lot P-11 will receive a temporary Blue Zone designation on all lot signage and convert to faculty and staff parking on April 1. However, a row of spaces (Nos. 1-12) adjacent to Ferguson Hall will be designated for Residential Living & Learning staff only.
Faculty and staff assigned to parking spaces Nos. 1-176 in lot P-10 will not be affected by the construction project and will continue to park in their previously assigned spaces.
Those affected by the upcoming O. A. Grant Building project have been notified about their reassignments from P-10 to P-11.
