Flute Studio to present Celtic Folk Journeys concert

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Students from Tarleton’s Flute Studio, under the direction of Ronda Eldridge, along with several community musicians, will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center theatre.

The concert, Celtic Folk Journeys, will feature the music of Ireland, Scotland and Wales along with student arrangements of traditional folk pieces for flute, tin whistle, Irish flute and recorder, as well as other traditional Celtic instruments, modern instruments and vocalists.

A special arrangement of Emily’s Tears will also be performed in honor of Celtic musician Harriet Emilie Erwin, who recently passed away due to complications of Lyme disease.

Admission to the concert is free, however, donations will be collected in the theatre’s lobby to benefit the Texas Lyme Disease Association.
