STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Nationally syndicated radio host Doug Stephan recently was on the Tarleton campus to broadcast his show, Good Day from the university’s public radio station studio. He was joined by singer-songwriter Jewel, who lives in the area, as well as Tarleton history professor Dr. T. Lindsay Baker.

The staff at KTRL 90.5 FM welcomed Stephan to the studio for his Jan. 10 morning show during which Jewel unveiled one of three new songs slated to be included on her new greatest hits album. Serving as the show’s guest co-host, Jewel sought the assistance of university President F. Dominic Dottavio who held the lyric sheet for her while she sang and played guitar.

Baker, holder of the W.K. Gordon Endowed Chair of Texas history, author of several books and creator of the educational radio program, T for Texas, also served as a guest on the show and spoke with Stephan about his book, Gangster Tour of Texas, during Good Day’s second hour.

Usually, Stephan’s Good Day show originates from his working farm in Framingham, Mass., while other shows are broadcast from locations across the United States. Stephan is also likely to appear in any city in the world, fully equipped to originate his show wherever there’s something interesting happening, or to bring together interesting people from around the globe.

Good Day is currently heard on more than 350 radio stations by over 3.5 million listeners every week. Stephan is now among the top national talk radio personalities, according to TALKERS magazine. His company, Stephan Multimedia, is the largest independent producer of talk radio programming in the country, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C., and his reach has extended to Podcasting and the Internet.
