STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Hannah Miller, a Tarleton senior agricultural communications student, has been elected editor of the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (NACT) organization. The Rockport, Texas native was elected during the 14th annual Agricultural Media Summit, held Aug. 4-8 in Albuquerque, N.M.

The NACT officer team was elected by students representing collegiate Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) chapters across the nation. The officers were elected based on dedication to the agriculture industry, leadership, ACT involvement at the local level and a willingness to serve. Miller joins four other college students who were chosen from a national pool for the NACT officer team during NACT’s annual business meeting.

“I am an intern for the Texas Social Media Research Institute at Tarleton and I believe I have many skills that I can use to help on the social media side of National ACT with working on our following base and have NACT be more engaging through these different media,” said Miller.

During the NACT summit, senior agricultural communications major Sarah Friesen, of Atwater, Calif., was awarded second place for an article published in the Cross Timbers Trails, a Tarleton student-produced magazine that covers lifestyle, events and travel in the counties making up the region. Friesen serves as editor of the magazine, which published its first edition in summer 2012.

Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow is an organization designed to further the career interests of its members through interactions with other students and professionals. More information about the organization can be found online at: www.nactnow.org.
