Environmental Communication Week at Tarleton State University

Tarleton's Environmental Communication Week, a community-wide event focused on environmental awareness, will be held April 18-21, the week of Earth Day 2011, which is April 22. Fun environmental games, panel discussions, lectures and interactive workshops will be offered. The event is sponsored by the Tarleton State University Communication Studies Department, Dick Smith Library, the Environmental Advisory Council, and the Staff Council.

Community members who are interested in environmental issues will be on hand with lecture topics and workshops focusing on different types of gardening techniques, including water gardening. Environmental-related activities will feature a recycling game and a small appliance swap.

A movie, "No Impact Man," will be featured. The movie shows how a regular family living in the city takes an active role to reduce their carbon footprint to minimal levels as they adopt a "green" lifestyle.
