Tarleton State University’s Army ROTC program is part of the 5th Brigade, which oversees Army ROTC programs across multiple states, including Texas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our mission is to guide Tarleton State students in developing leadership skills essential for commissioning as officers in the United States Army. Through comprehensive training and academic excellence, our program offers a pathway to serve in one of the world’s most esteemed military forces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our cadets excel in many fields, including military leadership, engineering, and healthcare. The training we provide emphasizes core values such as integrity, personal excellence, and selfless service. These principles, combined with the rigorous academic environment at Tarleton State University, cultivate well-rounded leaders prepared to advance the Army’s mission. Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In order to be eligible for AROTC, applicants must meet the following qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component; either the Army Reserve or the Army National Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must be a U.S. Citizen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must not have reached 29th<\/sup> birthday during anticipated graduation and commissioning year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incoming freshman must have a high school GPA of at least 2.5, and a minimum SAT score of 920 (math\/reading) or 19 on the ACT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants with prior military service may be eligible for age adjustments for the amount of time equal to their prior service, on a month-by-month basis, for a maximum of 36 months if they will not reach their 29th<\/sup> birthday by December 31st<\/sup> of their anticipated graduation and commissioning year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must not have moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms, supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AROTC Commissioning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Upon successful completion of the AROTC Program and baccalaureate or graduate degree, a Cadet is commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In some instances, active service can be delayed by students continuing in post-baccalaureate degree programs. Cadets can serve in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, or compete for Active Duty depending on the scholarship program.
