Through comprehensive training and academic excellence, our program offers a pathway to serve in one of the world&#8217;s most esteemed military forces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e3bf784459bea24cadecc3bae8661bfb wp-block-paragraph\">Our cadets excel in many fields, including military leadership, engineering, and healthcare. The training we provide emphasizes core values such as integrity, personal excellence, and selfless service. These principles, combined with the rigorous academic environment at Tarleton State University, cultivate well-rounded leaders prepared to advance the Army&#8217;s mission. My favorite part has been the people\u2014working with a team that pushes each other to be better every day.&#8221;<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a054c8e62d6fccede2ce1750e9c06a0f\">Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9b4a0c5b94b5b4e80f4905f85d600ba1 wp-block-paragraph\">In order to be eligible for AROTC, applicants must meet the following qualifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-20d1a58d054aed68582f2e5d85b28801 wp-block-paragraph\">Must agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component; either the Army Reserve or the Army National Guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-913e5b44bdcf34a9130b0d831db5556f wp-block-paragraph\">Must be a U.S. Citizen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1dd09a9ac80e7f8b829e21458e75e6b7 wp-block-paragraph\">Must not have reached 29<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;birthday during anticipated graduation and commissioning year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9df827b90f19ed47ec2bc558dbfe2e11 wp-block-paragraph\">Incoming freshman must have a high school GPA of at least 2.5, and a minimum SAT score of 920 (math\/reading) or 19 on the ACT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3c70e44f73972f4004944f57cc861d4e wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants with prior military service may be eligible for age adjustments for the amount of time equal to their prior service, on a month-by-month basis, for a maximum of 36 months if they will not reach their 29<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;birthday by December 31<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of their anticipated graduation and commissioning year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8f7b95e1c97879e2bec4a328a3873c97 wp-block-paragraph\">Must not have moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms, supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AROTC Commissioning<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6b329f34c98ed6ae92533811ae12b6ac wp-block-paragraph\">Upon successful completion of the AROTC Program and baccalaureate or graduate degree, a Cadet is commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. In some instances, active service can be delayed by students continuing in post-baccalaureate degree programs. Cadets can serve in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve, or compete for Active Duty depending on the scholarship program.
