It takes a dedicated student with good grades and a strong will. You not only have to survive in this capacity, but you also must thrive in it. It might be tough, but it is worth every second. Requirements include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-16239437eb8f43400bceba919527132e\">Meet all GMC membership requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-dafffcc9755985ac100cef5580942241\">Pass the Air Force Fitness Assessment (FA)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>FA is an exam composed of three events in the following order: push-ups, crunches, and a 1.5-mile run. The test is used to ensure cadets maintain an acceptable level of fitness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pass the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>AFOQT is a standardized test similar to the SAT and ACT that measures aptitudes and is used to select applicants for officer commissioning programs or specific training programs. The Three-Year Program mimics the 4-year program with two major differences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-fa8cb16f3057283bddbe569a841880f8\">2 years of the foundational General Military Course are taken concurrently (first &amp; sophomore years)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-79fdee52e086f5839749cbbe17edebf7\">Would attend Field Training (mandatory summer training program) following first year in the program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-acebe3a20b1f09b2c6cb6605964f6349 is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Airman Scholarship &amp; Commissioning Program (Enlisted Active Duty Air Force Only) <\/summary>\n<p class=\"has-tarleton-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8501e1383a9bef2e41caa6ad00c007f6\">The ASCP offers active duty enlisted personnel the opportunity to earn a commission while completing their bachelor&#8217;s degree as an Air Force ROTC cadet. Those selected temporarily separate from active duty Air Force to join ROTC and become a full-time student at a participating college. Participants receive tuition and fees scholarships for up to $15,000 per year, and a textbook allowance of $600 per year. This program is open to students in all majors who are within two years of completing all bachelor\u2019s degree and commissioning requirements. Those who are selected separate from the active duty Air Force to join ROTC and become a full-time student at a participating college to pursue a bachelor\u2019s degree. Upon graduation and completion of the two-year program, you will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and return to active duty for at least four years.
