This recognition underscores the region\u2019s plan to grow its technology industry and establish itself as a global leader in semiconductor production over the next decade \u2014 strengthening both the U.S. economy and national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tarleton State\u2019s Division of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (RIED) is focused on helping North Central Texas grow and thrive. Through its centers for entrepreneurship, rural economic development and biotechnology research, RIED works to spark new ideas, support small businesses and strengthen local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley said the TSTH collaboration represents valuable recognition and opportunity for the university to make a positive impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPartnering with the Texoma Semiconductor Tech Hub will create even more benefits for our region, and Tarleton State is poised to contribute by collaborating across different fields, using research to solve real-world problems, supporting new business ideas and preparing our students with the skills they\u2019ll need for tomorrow\u2019s technology jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ways that Tarleton State can contribute to the TSTH include creating new courses, offering workforce development programs, providing opportunities for faculty to collaborate on cutting-edge semiconductor research and opening doors for rural entrepreneurs to take part in initiatives through the university\u2019s EDA-funded innovation and entrepreneurship center, said Dr. Rupa Iyer, Vice President of Research, Innovation and Economic Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe see the Texoma Semiconductor Tech Hub as a partner that shares our goals and one that will greatly benefit the economic vitality of the region,\u201d she added. \u201cThrough our EDA-funded Tarleton Innovation and Entrepreneurship University Center and our Institute for Biotechnology Research and Innovation we are focused on leveraging university assets to build regional economic ecosystems in support of innovation, entrepreneurship and rural prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To learn more about Tarleton State\u2019s Division of Research, Innovation and Economic Development, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/research\">www.tarleton.edu\/research<\/a>.
