Hosted by the Tarleton State University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in partnership with Ensemble Coworking and Sparkyard.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Iyer opened the event with an overview of the organizational structure of the Division of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development (RIED), including the University Center. She introduced the Center\u2019s mission and goals, outlined its various products and activities, and highlighted recent accomplishments that reflect Tarleton\u2019s growing impact on entrepreneurship and innovation in the region. As she concluded, Dr. Iyer reminded the audience, <em>\u201cInnovation begins when we choose to act on an idea. Our job is to help turn those ideas into reality.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yourman spoke to the audience about strategies to create concise, memorable introductions ideal for networking events, pitch sessions, or business meetings. She also broke down the essential components of a strong business presentation\u2014from crafting a powerful opening to structuring in-depth content that resonates with potential customers and lenders. Yourman\u2019s message was clear: <em>\u201cYour story is your secret weapon. Her strategic consulting practice and community initiatives continue to inspire small business owners to pursue sustainable success.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Casey Raitz, CEO of U.S. Sand &amp; Gravel, offered an inspiring story of grit and growth. He and his wife, Celeste, started their business in 2015 with a single used dump truck. Today, they run a thriving Stephenville-based operation with over 60 employees and a large fleet. Raitz emphasized customer service and community giving, highlighting how the company supports local residents during natural disasters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elena Hunderlach, CEO of Elena\u2019s Crafts and a Tarleton State graduate, spoke about building her business by blending creativity with sound business strategies. Drawing from her degree in business administration and hands-on experience, she encouraged attendees to pursue their passions with intention. Her journey demonstrated how persistence, focus, and the right mindset can transform small ideas into thriving ventures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was a tremendous success, attracting students, local entrepreneurs, and small business supporters.
