Mission and Goals<\/em><\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Institute for Rural Economic Development and Research has a mission to support economic prosperity and resilience in rural communities through university economic research and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders. The Institute will create a repository of the university’s talent, resources, and expertise to match them with the needs of the region’s rural communities and small towns. This will create productive partnerships with surrounding rural communities to spur economic prosperity and resilience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Activities<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Institute conducts technology-related economic and policy research that will enhance Texas’s competitive position in the nation. Research strategies include strategic planning, forecasting, feasibility studies, readiness assessments, economic impact analysis, and labor market studies<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
