Today\u2019s Texas A&amp;M System Board of Regents meeting gives us even more reason to celebrate the progress being made across Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The unwavering support of Chancellor Glenn Hegar and the Board of Regents continues to strengthen our university and expand opportunities for our students, faculty and staff. Their actions today represent another important step in our pursuit of becoming the premier comprehensive university in the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Board of Regents granted a conditional roadway easement to the North Texas Tollway Authority for the Chisholm Trail Overpass Project, which will create Tarleton State Parkway to&nbsp; the Tarleton State Fort Worth campus. The project will provide direct access from Chisholm Trail Parkway, improve traffic flow and create a new gateway to campus, opening greater access to opportunity for our students and the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two new academic degree programs within the Division of Health Sciences were authorized to seek approval from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. These programs will position students to thrive in higher-level roles within the industry:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Doctor of Nursing Practice, Nurse Anesthesia<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Master of Healthcare Administration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Michael Jones has been approved by the Regents to serve as Tarleton State University\u2019s Chief of Police. He will lead our outstanding university police department, who play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our students, faculty, staff and visitors. We look forward to Dr. Jones\u2019 leadership and vision in his new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am deeply grateful for the dedication of our faculty and staff and the extraordinary work you do each day on behalf of our students. Your commitment continues to elevate the value and impact of a Tarleton State education and ensures we remain true to our student-centered mission.
