  • "A Campaign for a Safer Tarleton" - The safety of the Tarleton Community is of utmost importance to the University Police.  To keep the community better informed we as a police department have developed a program known as "A Campaign for a Safer Tarleton."  This program consists of two main aspects.  The first aspect is the dissemination of print materials. These pamphlets, available on-line and in our office, will help to better inform the campus community about safety related issues.  These issues include; information about the University Police Department, the R.A.D. Program, Facebook and Online Safety, Operation ID, Self Protection, Texans and Alcohol, Traveling Tips and Vehicle Burglaries.  The second aspect is that the officers of the University Police will be making themselves available to student organizations to talk about the importance of responsible decisions in regards to alcohol consumption.
  • R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Program - A FREE self-defense program for female students and non-students living in our community.
  • C.R.A.S.E. - Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events

  • After Hours Building Permits - If you are a student working hard on a project after hours or on the weekends when our buildings are typically closed, we want you to be assured you are safe in those areas. Our police check the buildings across campus repeatedly during these off-hours and make sure everyone who is in each building has permission to be in there for your safety. To get permission to work after hours and/or on weekend, be sure to fill out the After Hours Building Permit Form and have your faculty member sign it and turn it in to our office. When we receive your form, it will be reviewed and signed by the Chief of Police. You will receive a copy of the permit back to keep on your person at all times while in the building.  Our police will check for permits as they go through the buildings.
  • Event Security Service Request - If your department or student organization is planning an event that will likely need a police presence to ensure the safety of your attendees, please fill out the Police Service Request Form. You will also need to contact Risk Management & Compliance about your special events.
