The Texan 3-Step

We are so excited that you have decided to join the Tarleton family! Through our Texan 3-Step process, we guide your transition into Tarleton and college life.

Texan Orientation

To register for Texan Orientation, you will use the online registration link contained in an invitation sent to the email address with which you applied to the university.

All students admitted for Fall 2022 who are eligible and required to attend registration day will receive an email. We will begin sending emails in December 2021. If you need the email resent, or want to inquire as to why you have not yet received the invitation, please call 254-968-9256 or email so we can assist you.

Duck Camp

Duck Camp, a three-day, two-night experience for incoming freshmen, eases the transition from high school into college. At Duck Camp, you are immersed in Tarleton’s rich history and traditions while bonding with fellow incoming and current students.

Texan Camp

Transferring in? Get Connected with other transfer students at Texan Camp, a component of Duck Camp, specifically aids you as a transfer student. You receive the same exciting experience that Duck Camp offers, but with a unique transfer twist.

Texan Camp Activities Include:

  • Team Building Sessions
  • Leadership Activities
  • Tarleton Tradition Sessions
  • Water Activities

Transition Week

Transition Week 2022

T-Week begins with First Year Move-In and continues through the first day of class. T-Week helps you make a successful transition into the academic and campus community. During T-Week, you will:

  • Acclimate to campus and learn about resources
  • Bond with the incoming class of 2026
  • Learn about ways to get involved on campus
  • Attend a variety of fun, evening activities
  • Connect with faculty and staff

and so much more!

T-Week is mandatory for all new incoming freshmen and transfer students with less than 12 credit hours (regardless of how many dual-credit hours you have).
