STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Beginning with the Class of 2026, seniors in the top 50% of their graduating class at Army and Navy Academy will earn automatic admission to Tarleton State University as part of its Distinguished High School Partners program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Academy and Tarleton State leadership formalized the partnership to expand educational access and create seamless pathways for student success. Tarleton State will also waive application fees for students who qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Army and Navy Academy is a private, college-preparatory military boarding school for boys in grades 7-12 in Carlsbad, Calif. The Academy maintains strong affiliations with accrediting bodies such as the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), as well as membership in organizations like the Association of Military Colleges and Schools of the United States (AMCSUS) and the Western Boarding Schools Association (WBSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPartnering with Army and Navy Academy ensures that some of the brightest students in the U.S. have the opportunity for a high-quality educational experience in a military-aligned university,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cThis collaboration reinforces our commitment to be a first-choice institution for high school seniors across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
College of Leadership and Military Studies Dean Col. Doug Simon, Commandant of Tarleton State\u2019s Corps of Cadets, said the agreement facilitates beneficial prospects for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur partnership with Army and Navy Academy is a collective passion to lift and inspire our students to serve in our Armed Forces and contribute in meaningful ways to our communities,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are excited for the opportunities that we will create for our students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President\u2019s Guaranteed Scholarship Program assures first-time-in-college students graduating in the top half of their high school class between $500 and $4,000 in scholarships. Students graduating from one of Tarleton State\u2019s Distinguished High School Partners will receive an additional $500 or $1,000. Admitted freshmen must submit a general scholarship application to determine eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis Distinguished High School Partners agreement between Tarleton State and the Army and Navy Academy will allow our young men to seamlessly transition from our academy to Tarleton State so that they can further the virtues-driven academic, leadership, and athletic education they receive at ANA,\u201d said Barry Schreiar, President of Army and Navy Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
