STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s Title III Project continues to strengthen strategic initiatives that support student success, retention and institutional effectiveness, with an emphasis on first-generation, low-income and at-risk students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Funded through a five-year federal grant awarded in 2021, the project is expanding in its final year with an additional $129,942 in supplemental funding. These investments enhance programs that help students stay enrolled, progress through their degree programs and graduate on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis work reflects a collaborative effort across campus to strengthen student success initiatives and expand access to critical resources,\u201d said Angela Jones, Director of the Title III program. \u201cWe are proud to invest in strategies that will have a lasting impact on our students and the university.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Efforts include expanded academic advising, increased tutoring and supplemental instruction, and financial wellness programming through the Texan Smart Financial Center supporting Tarleton State\u2019s Quality Enhancement Plan and advancing financial literacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Student support services have expanded across the Stephenville and Fort Worth campuses, improving access to advising, writing support and academic resources that help students navigate degree pathways and stay on track. Beyond these efforts, the initiative also enhances career readiness through opportunities outside the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Quinccia mock interview software provides hands-on practice, while the Dewey Parker Internship Program connects students and recent graduates with paid micro-internship experiences. Funding for Texas Success Initiative assessments continues to reduce financial barriers, particularly for Pell-eligible students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Texan Smart Financial Center serves as a hub for financial literacy, offering one-on-one coaching, educational programming and campuswide initiatives that promote informed financial decision-making. Investments in technology and outreach have expanded its impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additional support in tutoring and student development contributes to a more coordinated, student-centered approach to academic success. As these initiatives continue to mature, they are driving improvements in retention, expanding academic support and strengthening career readiness.
