STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s men\u2019s rodeo team dominated the bronc riding events on its way to a 545-point effort and first place at the weekend Ranger College Rodeo at the Nolan County Coliseum in Sweetwater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The women\u2019s team, which placed six barrel racers in the event\u2019s top 10, accumulated 215 points to finish second behind Weatherford College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both teams retain the top spot in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association\u2019s Lone Star Region with two stops left in the 2025-26 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Daxtyn Field scored a rodeo-best 88 in the championship finals in Sweetwater to go with his first go-round 82 for a whopping 170 on two head. Teammate Devon Moore\u2019s runner-up 167 in the average came on scores of 85 and 82, while Jace Lomheim posted a two-ride 162 on twin 81 rides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Clay Greenslade turned in a fourth-place 150 including a 76 in the long go and a 74 in the finals, and Weston Chandler\u2019s 85 in the preliminary round gave him fifth overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Devon Hay won the saddle bronc riding on the strength of his 165.5 total, which featured scores of 82.5 and 83. Montgomery Parsons posted scores of 80 and 79.5 for a second-place 159.5; Cauy Masters\u2019 143 on rides of 80 and 63 points gave him fourth; and teammate Cooper Lane scored an 84 in the opening round for fifth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Steer wrestler Dalton Porch flashed a 5.6 in the finals after turning in a first-go time of 5.7 for his runner-up 11.3 in the average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kreece Dearing qualified for the finals in three events, taking fifth in steer wrestling with a pair of 6.3-second times for a 12.6 on two runs, then took ninth with his 30-second combined time in tie-down roping. He and team roping partner Levi DeLuna were sixth in the event, highlighted by a 6.2 in the long go-round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lindsey-Kay Reichert\u2019s 15.07 in Saturday\u2019s finals was top among barrel racers at Sweetwater. Her two-ride total of 30.35, including a long go 15.28, was second overall. Patton Lynch was third with runs of 15.29 and 15.16 for a 30.45 on two. Rylee Abel\u2019s fifth place came on rides of 15.25 and 20.05 for a combined 35.30, and Brooklyn Balch turned in a 15.35 in the opening go-round and a 20.22 in the finals for a combined 35.57 and sixth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jordyn Koonsman posted a seventh-place 35.85 in the average, featuring a 15.28 first round time and a 20.57 in the short go, and Skyler Sutton\u2019s ninth-place 36.02 tally on two rides featured a rodeo-best 15.2 in the first round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both teams return to action for the Pecos College Rodeo April 9-11, then finish the season at home with the April 16-18 Tarleton State Stampede.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
