STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s women\u2019s rodeo team, on the strength of championship efforts in each event, accumulated 335 points and captured first place in last weekend\u2019s South Texas Collegiate Classic Rodeo at Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Breakaway roper Rylee Grace Abel\u2019s two-run 3.9-second time featured a rodeo-best 1.9 clocking in the preliminary go-round and a 2.0 in the finals. Faith Lundberg flashed the top time in the goat tying finals, a 5.7, to finish with a 12.7 in the average, and Patton Lynch\u2019s 14.5, best in the barrel racing long go, was the springboard to a two-run 29.49.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jenna Fulton contributed a fifth in breakaway roping, turning in a 2.3 and 3.9 for 6.2 on two, and Brooklyn Balch\u2019s 6.8 and 6.3 times for a two-head 13.1 were good for second in goat tying. Teammate Rhiley Montoya was eighth with a 15.9 total on runs of 6.2 and 9.7 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anna Clark flashed times of 14.86 and 15.1 seconds for a combined 29.96 and sixth place in barrel racing. Teammate Karmen Martin\u2019s seventh-place 29.99 featured a long go 14.7 and a 15.25 in the finals, Ashlyn Goven took eighth with her 14.87 and 19.85 times for a 34.72 on two, and Maci McDonald took 10th<\/sup> with a 39.82 combined time, featuring runs of 14.65 and 25.17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tarleton State\u2019s defending national champion men\u2019s team took third in San Antonio as four bareback riders finished in the top five led by Devon Moore\u2019s two-head 156. Moore\u2019s tally, which tied for first in the event, included rides of 82.5 points in the first go-round and 73.5 in the finals.
