STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley has been named a recipient of Insight Into Academia<\/em> magazine\u2019s 2026 Trailblazer in Higher Education Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national honor recognizes senior leaders whose bold, strategic innovations have advanced institutional excellence, strengthened community and connectedness, and created meaningful, measurable impact for students, employees and the broader academic ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insight Into Academia<\/em> selected Dr. Hurley for the award in recognition of his bold innovation and strategic, transformative leadership at Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is an extraordinary honor, and I am deeply grateful to those who submitted and supported the nomination,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cWhile my name may be associated with this recognition, it truly belongs to the entire Tarleton State family. Dr. Hurley\u2019s forward-thinking programs, expanded support services, and comprehensive approach to institutional growth has advanced institutional excellence while strengthening community across the university. His commitment to progress, resilience and measurable impact places him among a premier cohort of visionary leaders shaping the future of higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
