STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 The gallery at Tarleton State University\u2019s Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center will host \u201cGreetings From the Regenerative Aesthetics Playground\u201d by Waco artist Tina Linville beginning Friday, Jan. 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working with materials including found fragments that carry visible histories and handcrafted textiles and objects shaped by prior use, Linville constructs a dynamic ecology of renewal where play guides the act of making and creativity becomes a generative force. The exhibition invites viewers to consider how processes of reuse, improvisation and material transformation can model hopeful, regenerative ways of engaging with the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Linville, who works at the intersection of fiber, sculpture and installation, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington and a Master of Fine Arts degree in fibers from California State University, Long Beach. She teaches fiber arts in the Baylor University Department of Art and Art History.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her work has been included in exhibition projects with Textile Arts LA, the Handweavers Guild of America, the Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation and Craft in America. She has shown at Jason Vass Gallery, the Amarillo Museum of Art and numerous education institution art galleries across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recipient of the 2024 \u201cBest of Fiber Award in the Materials Hard + Soft Contemporary Craft Exhibition,\u201d Linville has also participated in the 2025 international residency \u201cBoundary Crossings: Artists in Interfaith Dialogue\u201d in Mussoorie, India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collaboration is central to Linville\u2019s practice. She partners with Sarah Mosher and Rachel Wilkerson on fiber, sustainability and data visualization projects and co-founded Painting and Sculpture Outpost with artist Joe Lloyd, a platform for artist-run exhibitions, community projects and ongoing creative exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
