STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Dr. Barry Lambert has been named Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Tarleton State University, following approval by The Texas A&M System Board of Regents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Lambert brings more than two decades of academic leadership and research experience to the role. Most recently serving as Associate Provost and Associate Vice President for Student Retention and Persistence at Tarleton State, he has held key positions including Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Associate Vice President of the Office of Research and Innovation and Dean of the College of Graduate Studies. His leadership has driven enrollment growth, expanded academic programs and secured significant research funding and philanthropic support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dr. Lambert\u2019s innovative spirit and collaborative leadership will accelerate Tarleton State\u2019s momentum and strengthen our commitment to student success and faculty excellence during this exciting transition,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lambert will oversee Tarleton State\u2019s academic enterprise, guiding faculty development, student success initiatives and strategic planning. He will work closely with university leadership to advance Tarleton State\u2019s mission of providing accessible, career-ready education and extending research excellence across all disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our strength comes from the dedication of our faculty and staff and the determination of our students,” said Dr. Lambert. “My focus is on supporting their work, strengthening our academic foundation and advancing the mission that has guided this university for generations. We have important work ahead, and I am committed to helping us move forward with clarity and purpose.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Lambert earned his Ph.D. in Animal Science from Kansas State University and both his master\u2019s and bachelor\u2019s degrees from Tarleton State University. His research portfolio includes more than $19 million in funded projects and over 60 refereed publications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The appointment supports Tarleton State\u2019s strategic priorities within The Texas A&M System, reinforcing its role as a leader in education, research and community engagement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
