{"id":54561,"date":"2025-10-27T16:17:44","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T21:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/?p=54561"},"modified":"2025-10-27T16:17:45","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T21:17:45","slug":"tarleton-state-rodeo-teams-continue-their-winning-ways-at-angelo-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/tarleton-state-rodeo-teams-continue-their-winning-ways-at-angelo-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Tarleton State Rodeo Teams Continue Their Winning Ways at Angelo State\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s rodeo teams posted lopsided wins yet again last weekend at the first-ever Angelo State University National Intercollegiate Rodeo in San Angelo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Tarleton State men amassed 770 points on the strength of several dominating rough stock performances, while the women accumulated 375 points featuring event titles in breakaway roping and goat tying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bareback rider Daxtyn Feild posted a 79-point ride in the ASU Rodeo finals to go with his first round 75 for first place with 154 points. Teammate Taylon Carmody turned in a rodeo-best 82 in the long go round and a 71 in the finals for a second-place 153. Devon Moore\u2019s third-place 152 came on rides of 79 and 73 points, Jace Lomheim was fourth with his 73-77-150 and Clay Greenslade\u2019s 68-70-138 was good for sixth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tarleton State saddle bronc riders collected the top three spots as Cauy Masters took event honors with a 159 total, including the rodeo\u2019s top score, an 85 in Saturday\u2019s finals, and a 74 in the preliminary round. Waitley Sharon and Greenslade split second and third places with their 157.5s. Sharon\u2019s tally came on rides of 78.5 and 79 points and Greenslade\u2019s featured a first go round 81 and a 76.5 in the short go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalton Porch took the tie-down roping crown at ASU, flashing the event\u2019s top time, an 8.5 in the finals after a 10.6 in the long go. He also took sixth in steer wrestling with a 4.2-13-17.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rylee Abel\u2019s breakaway title time featured a rodeo-best 3.5-second run Saturday night to accompany her opening round 3.9 for a two-head 7.4. Gina Cope was sixth in the event with her 3.6-5.3-8.9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kaylie Garza captured first in goat tying with runs of 10.6 and 11.1 seconds for a 21.7 combined time. Rhiley Montoya\u2019s twin 11.3s were good for a third-place 22.6, and Kenzie Hereim took fourth with her 11.5-11.7-23.2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four Tarleton State barrel racers finished in the top 10 over the weekend with Kaycee Thomas\u2019 fourth-place 17.69-17.83-35.52 leading the way. Madison Richmann was sixth with a 17.81-17.91-35.72, Brooklyn Balch finished seventh with her 17.74-18.06-35.8 and Karmen Martin\u2019s 17.91-23.16-41.07 was good for 12<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Tarleton State teams will wrap up the fall portion of the 2025-26 season at the Vernon College Rodeo Nov. 7-8.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s rodeo teams posted lopsided wins yet again last weekend at the first-ever Angelo State University National Intercollegiate Rodeo in San Angelo.
