STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Continuing a stretch of historic momentum, Tarleton State University has announced that preliminary fall 2025 numbers indicate record enrollment for the sixth consecutive year, with over 21,000 students attending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Additionally, first-time-in-college enrollment will exceed 3,000 for the second consecutive year, a record class size for the university. In total, Tarleton State is welcoming 4,225 new Texans this academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are transforming more lives than ever while preparing our students to enter the workforce and make a meaningful impact,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cOur commitment to expanding access to an affordable, first-class education is making it possible for a record number of Texans to earn a college degree.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As an academic, first-choice destination, Tarleton State\u2019s enrollment of the top 10% of Texas high school graduates is up 21.9% from a year ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Enrollment in Tarleton Today has also soared to record levels. For fall 2025, more than 5,500 students from around the Lone Star State are participating, nearly doubling the participation from a year ago. The university\u2019s dual enrollment program provides an affordable option for Texas high school students to accelerate their college preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTarleton State is a first-choice destination for thousands of talented and innovative Texans each year,\u201d said Hurley. \u201cWe are proud to have many of the brightest rising stars from our state as a part of our family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Notably, enrollment in doctoral programs has risen significantly since last year at a 36% increase. Tarleton State added a Doctor of Occupational Therapy program over the summer and has plans to launch three more doctoral programs in the next 18 months, pending Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
