STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Historic support for Tarleton State University continued in the 89th legislative session, including $5 million in non-formula support for the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine (applicant status \u2014 seeking accreditation). The Texas Legislature has now committed over $17 million to Tarleton State for the sole purpose of enhancing rural healthcare across the state of Texas. Overall, Tarleton State has seen a 50% increase in state appropriations over the last three bienniums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tarleton State\u2019s proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine is positioned to help address critical disparities in healthcare access and quality in rural and medically underserved communities. The college is seeking approval for a class size of 150 students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A formal feasibility study for the College of Osteopathic Medicine conducted by Tripp Umbach highlighted the rising demand for physicians across Texas and displayed that Tarleton State is in a strong position to help address the need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
