STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s Dr. Deborah Liles continues the season\u2019s three-part Tuesday Talk series at 6 p.m. Feb. 25, at the W.K. Gordon Museum and Research Center. The discussion centers on how to find these historical gems in courthouses and online to add to personal research and understanding of our past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deeds, bills of sale, land purchase records, cattle brands, and more are waiting for genealogical and historical review in Texas county courthouses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Liles became Tarleton State\u2019s W.K. Gordon Center Endowed Chair of Texas History in 2018. She teaches history with an emphasis on Texas, women, slavery, local communities and ranching. She also works with the W.K. Gordon Museum and Research Center in addition to serving on the board of several historical associations statewide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
