STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 With student success and affordability in mind, Tarleton State has announced that expenses for entry-level certification exams and licensure fees will now be covered by the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students will be reimbursed upon successful first attempt completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are committed to removing barriers that stand in the way of student success,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cHundreds of dollars for one exam can be daunting. This program will address that affordability concern for our Texans as they prepare to make a difference in their professional pursuits.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Future educators working toward their certifications represent the largest group at Tarleton State to benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students within the College of Health Sciences with required exams or licensures are among others set to be impacted from the financial support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exams and licensure fees currently range from $120 to $600. During the 2023-24 academic year, over 700 students took entry-level certification exams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The exam certification reimbursement program will go into effect for students graduating December 2024 or after.
