STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 To celebrate Tarleton State\u2019s 125-year history of offering deserving students access to life-changing education, the university has announced the establishment of the Texan Excellence Fund (TEF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"The<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Set to serve as Tarleton State\u2019s principal catalyst for annual scholarship and student-success support, the fund features an innovative membership model to incentivize participation and elevate impact on students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comprehensive stewardship will be a hallmark, as will full alignment and strategic collaboration between the university\u2019s advancement division and the Tarleton Alumni Association (TAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton Alumni Association members, current and future, will receive full credit for their TAA membership contribution toward their TEF membership status with a new Texan Excellence Fund donation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe launch of the Texan Excellence Fund personifies our unwavering, 125-year commitment to student-centered excellence at Tarleton State University,\u201d said President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cIt is also reflective of our commitment to expanding engagement across our dynamic alumni base. As we increase our alumni giving rate, we expand the life-changing impact of philanthropy on our exceptional students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently named one of the \u201cBest Colleges in America\u201d by Money magazine, Tarleton State is a recognized national leader in serving first-generation students. The TEF will directly advance this mission, providing resources to eliminate economic obstacles known to compromise the student experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuition assistance is just one of several TEF designations. Housing, nutrition, wellness, support services, leadership and mentorship are all focal points as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe cost of tuition is arguably the greatest barrier for many of our students,\u201d said Vice President for Institutional Advancement Tony Vidmar. \u201cWith first-generation students comprising the majority of our student population, our opportunity for impact extends beyond tuition though. The Texan Excellence Fund allows us to address needs and graduate our Texans equipped to excel in all facets of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
