STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 The Tarleton State University Homecoming Parade will proudly display years of tradition and Texan spirit as numerous floats make their way down Washington and McIlhaney streets at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parade is a valued tradition that has been celebrated for many years. The Stephenville community, along with students, faculty, staff and alumni come together to showcase school spirit and creativity through colorful floats, marching bands and lively performances. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extravagant parade will feature around 60 different floats, with many decorated to represent the deep-rooted traditions and history of the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parade will begin near the Tarleton State Baseball Complex, heading northeast on Washington Street and turning northwest on McIlhaney Street. Onlookers are encouraged to gather on McIlhaney Street for the best viewing of the parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several special guests will be participating, such as Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley, the 2024 Homecoming Court, the Tarleton State Corp of Cadets and the beloved Purple Poo. Dr. Sam Pack\u2019s vintage cars will be prominently featured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with these, several groups from the community will make an appearance, including the Erath County Volunteer Fire Department, the Texas Twisters, the Cowboy Capital Pro Rodeo flag team and rodeo royalty, and the Morgan Mill ISD Marching Band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Announcers will be stationed at the gates on the corner of McIlhaney and Tarleton streets, sharing information about the various floats and special guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting alumni are encouraged to join the breakfast and parade watch party starting at 8 a.m. at the Alumni House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with Tarleton State rules, only ADA-compliant service animals will be allowed at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
