STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University will offer a shuttle service from campus and Stephenville City Park to the Tarleton Agriculture Center for the L.V. Risinger Memorial Bonfire on Friday, Oct. 11, from 6 to 11 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bonfire has been a part of Tarleton State\u2019s traditions since the 1920s and is named after L.V. Risinger, who defended the bonfire in 1939 from an attack by North Texas Agriculture College, the campus rivals at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impressive bonfire structure is possible thanks to months of preparation, hard work and planning by the Plowboys, a campus spirit organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 5,000 people attending last year’s event, the shuttle service was essential for students, faculty, staff and alumni to have an enjoyable bonfire experience<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, rides to and from the Tarleton Agriculture Center will begin on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m., continuing throughout the evening until the last group is transported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two pick up locations will be available for the community and campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first location will be in Stephenville City Park, and those wishing to use the service should enter the park off Graham and Riverside streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second pick up location will be available on Tarleton State\u2019s campus at the corner of Rudder Way and Cain Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking at the Tarleton Agriculture Center is strictly reserved, and those without an entry pass will not be permitted to park at the site. Attendees are highly encouraged to utilize the free shuttle service to help reduce traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clear bags are required, and no alcohol, food or drinks, including water, will be allowed on the shuttle or at the event. Water will be available on site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with Tarleton State rules, only ADA-compliant service animals will be permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
