STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s Dr. Subi Gandhi recently received the prestigious James E. Peavy Memorial Award, presented annually to the public health worker in Texas by the Texas Public Health Association (TPHA) who has made significant contributions to the advancement of public health knowledge or practice. 

\u201cI am deeply humbled and honored to receive this award,\u201d Dr. Gandhi, said. \u201cWhile this recognition is personal, it truly reflects our public health community’s collective efforts and dedication to improving population health.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Gandhi has been a faculty member in the university’s College of Health Sciences for 10 years. As an Associate Professor of Public Health and advisor, she emphasizes the extensive support she has received from the Department of Medical Lab Science, the Department of Public Health and Nutrition Sciences, the School of Health and Clinical Professionals, and Tarleton\u2019s Rural Communication Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis recognition will undoubtedly act as a catalyst,\u201d she said, \u201cpropelling my continued dedication to health disparities research and intervention efforts aimed at improving the health outcomes of underserved and underrepresented populations within the state of Texas and beyond.\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Gandhi was also recognized as the 2023 National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Texas affiliate winner, the 2022-23 Tarleton State Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Award winner, and the College of Health Sciences Excellence in Scholarship Awardee for 2022-23. She currently serves on the executive board and the governing council of TPHA. Her research is showcased at the TPHA annual conference, where she represents the university each year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
