CASPER, Wyo. \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s Rayme Jones took her accustomed spot atop the goat tying standings with a 6.5 time in third-round action at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) Wednesday night in Casper, Wyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jones, who finished third in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Southwest Region standings, carries a three-head total of 18.7, featuring first-place 6.1 times in the first two rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teammate Hadley Tidwell is currently in fifth in the average with her 13.95 barrel racing run Wednesday. Tidwell, who finished as the Southwest Region reserve champion for 2023-24, ran a 14.97 in the opening round, then added a 14.15 for fourth in the second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bareback rider Roedy Farrell posted a 77 on his third horse of the rodeo, good for fourth on the night. Farrell, fourth place in the regular season regional standings, has a composite 231.5 including a seventh-place 78 in the first go-round and a 76.5 in the second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Tarleton State qualifiers are in action as third-round competition continues Thursday. Saddle bronc riders Gus Gaillard and Bailey Small, along with steer wrestler Landis White will be featured in Friday\u2019s final third go-round performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday\u2019s championship finals, featuring the top 12 qualifiers in each event, will culminate with the naming of individual event and team title winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All performances of the CNFR will air on ESPN3 and be available on the ESPN app or on ESPN.com<\/a>. Competition will stream live and replay the following day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
