CASPER, Wyo. \u2014 Tarleton State University goat tyer Rayme Jones finished with a 6.1 to win the event\u2019s second go-round Tuesday at the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jones\u2019 effort helped push the Tarleton State women\u2019s team into second place at the end of two rounds of competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Tuesday\u2019s slack, barrel racers Hadley Tidwell and Jordan Driver posted twin 14.15s for fourth place on the day and goat tyer Tori Brower added a 7.9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saddle bronc rider Ira Dickinson scored a 76.5, bull rider Mason Spain earned a 72.5 and steer wrestler Landris White was eighth with his 6.6 tally to lift Tarleton State\u2019s men into third position heading into Tuesday night\u2019s opening of the third go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To end the day, the first runs of the CNFR\u2019s third round were highlighted by two rodeo-best performances from Tarleton State athletes as Dickinson\u2019s 84.5 and a 13.84 from Driver gave them early event leads in the final push toward Saturday\u2019s championship finals. Dickinson\u2019s score tied a CNFR record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brower was second on the night with her 7.1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday\u2019s evening performance of the CNFR will feature Tarleton State bareback rider Roedy Farrell and Jones\u2019 third run in goat tying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
