STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 In partnership with McLennan Community College, Tarleton State University\u2019s Waco campus will begin offering six new degree programs starting this fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To meet the workforce needs of the region, the new degrees from the Mayfield College of Engineering and the School of Kinesiology include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2014 Bachelor of Science in Sport Management<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The availability of these areas of study in Waco will allow students to complete an affordable four-year baccalaureate degree nearby rather than needing to relocate to pursue their academic aspirations in engineering, cybersecurity or kinesiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith first- and second-year courses launching at our Fort Worth campus starting this fall, we are also excited to expand and prioritize upper-level academic opportunities at Tarleton State Waco,\u201d said Dr. Rachael Capua, Dean of Tarleton State Fort Worth and Vice President for External Operations who oversees the university\u2019s outreach locations, including online. \u201cWe look forward to continuing our strong relationship with MCC with the primary hope of serving and supporting Waco and its surrounding communities well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton State Waco, through approximately 30 academic programs, serves nearly 1,000 students in undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs at the MCC\u2019s University Center, a two-decade partnership between the two institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis partnership with MCC exemplifies our dedication to meeting students where they are,\u201d said Dr. Diane Stearns, Tarleton State Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. \u201cThese new academic options represent our long-standing commitment to providing affordable, accessible and innovative pathways to ensure Tarleton State Texans thrive in their chosen fields.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting this fall, Tarleton State will simultaneously launch a dual admission program giving eligible first-time McLennan Community College students who plan to complete their associate degree at MCC and then transfer to Tarleton State to earn a bachelor\u2019s degree locked in tuition, advising supports, and personalized resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
