STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Beginning with the Class of 2024, Seguin Independent School District seniors in the top 50 percent of their graduating class will earn automatic admission to Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of its Distinguished High School Partners program, Tarleton State also will waive application fees for students who qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seguin ISD and Tarleton State leaders cemented the agreement April 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPartnering with Seguin ISD ensures that some of the brightest students in Texas have the opportunity for a high-quality university experience,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cThis partnership aligns with our commitment to be a first-choice institution for high school seniors in Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President\u2019s Guaranteed Scholarship Program assures first-time-in-college students graduating in the top half of their high school class between $500 and $4,000 in scholarships. Students graduating from one of Tarleton State\u2019s Distinguished High School Partners will receive an additional $500 or $1,000. Admitted freshmen must submit a general scholarship application to determine eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis partnership with Tarleton State University will expand post-graduation opportunities for our students as well as provide cost savings in their educational expenses,\u201d said Dr. Samuel Hogue, Seguin ISD Interim Deputy Superintendent. \u201cWe look forward to growing our partnership and expanding opportunities for our students in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
