STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Rodeo action returns to Lone Star Arena this Thursday-Saturday for the 58th annual Tarleton Stampede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performances get underway at 7:30 p.m. each night with slack scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday mornings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tarleton Stampede marks the season finale for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association\u2019s (NIRA) Southwest Region ahead of the 2024 College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) June 9-15 in Casper, Wyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 17 colleges and universities are set to compete in nine NIRA events, including bareback riding, tie-down roping, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, goat tying, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entering the last week of the season, Tarleton State tops the leaderboard on the men\u2019s and women\u2019s sides of the Southwest Region. With 4,050 points, the men lead second-place Western Texas College by more than 800 points. For the women, Tarleton has compiled 2,120 points to lead second-place Cisco College by nearly 800 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Award-winning rodeo announcers Ben Clements and Ferron Lucero will call the action, with TNT Rodeo Company, Stace Smith Pro Rodeos and Dakota Rodeo serving as the stock contractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday is Team Sponsor Night, with Hall of Fame and Tarleton Night slated for Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admission is $10 for adults, with children under 12 admitted free. Tarleton State students, faculty and staff are free with a Tarleton ID. Tickets may be purchased at the gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lone Star Arena is located at 4696 U.S. Highway 377 N. in Stephenville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
