STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 David Maslanka\u2019s epic \u201cSymphony No. 4\u201d will be featured in Tarleton State University\u2019s Wind Ensemble concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Written in 1993, the 30-minute piece is intended by the composer to be a \u201cspontaneous rise of the impulse to shout for the joy of life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The concert will also highlight the winner of the 2024 Concerto Competition, Marco Hernandez-Leal, on\u00a0Alexander Arutiunian\u2019s\u00a0\u201cConcerto for Trumpet.\u201d\u00a0Marco is a senior music performance major from Hurst and a student of Dr. Brian Walker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other selections include \u201cClutch.\u201d by Andrew David Perkins and \u201cToccata Marziale\u201d by Ralph Vaughan Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
