STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Theatre at Tarleton will present five performances of Shakespeare\u2019s \u201cJulius Caesar\u201d beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the theater of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Evening performances also are scheduled for Friday and Saturday and matinees for 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Admission is $5 for students, $8 for seniors and faculty, and $10 for adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jealous conspirators convince Brutus, played by Clay Luton, to join the assassination plot against Caesar (Matt Bristerpostma). To stop Caesar from gaining unassailable power, the conspirators kill him on the Ides of March. Ever loyal Mark Antony (James Stack) drives the conspirators out of Rome, where battle ensues. Brutus and his friend Cassius (Taylor Fambrough)\u00a0are defeated and kill themselves, leaving Antony to rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The twist in the tale is the setting. The production takes place in the United States in 2030 after a final world war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cast includes Caroline Bachhofer as Portia; Emily Rose as Octavius; Dr. Kristina Downs as Calpurnia; and Brenna Franklin as both Casca and Strato. Addy Brown, Alexis Mackey, Emily Fox, Kay Grimstad and Lily Peltz are the Ensemble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prudence Jones directs the play. Behind the scenes are stage manager Gabe Ramos; costume, hair and makeup designer Emily Fox; set designer Carol Stavish; lighting designer Clay Luton; sound designer Derek Shaw; prop master Paizlee Haby; special effects and fight choreographer Dan Stone; and technical director Turner Laxson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
