STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University will commemorate National Public Health Week (NPHW) with a three-day celebration April 1-3 focused on conversations about health and wellness in Erath County, a speaker series, a cooking show and a health fair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
STD testing will be provided in an adjacent, private room for participants. Activities begin Monday, April 1, at 2 p.m. with a virtual session, \u201cCatalysts of Transformation in Community Health,\u201d featuring speakers from the Texas Department of State Health Services<\/a>, Texas Health and the STAR Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuesday morning will highlight the \u201cHealthy in a Hurry\u201d cooking show at 11:30 in room 27 of the Barry B. Thompson Student Center, hosted by Paula McKeehan, Assistant Professor of food and nutrition. That afternoon in the TSC Ballrooms more than a dozen vendors will answer questions and distribute product samples at the Erath County Health and Wellness Fair beginning at 2 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Wednesday, Erath Engaged and Sodexo will offer a farmer\u2019s market for students, faculty, staff and the community; it opens at 10 a.m. on the Dining Hall Patio. After visiting the market, the \u201cVape Escape Room\u201d will be open in TSC 27 until 2 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everyone involved in the activities will become an Erath County Health Champion and receive an NPHW Professional Development Certificate documenting seven hours of professional development. A sign-in sheet will be available at each event. Registration is required for the kickoff and for individuals who would like to receive the certificate. To register click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
