STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Beginning with the Class of 2024, Lamar Consolidated Independent School District seniors in the top 50 percent of their graduating class will earn automatic admission to Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of its Distinguished High School Partners program, Tarleton State also will waive ACT or SAT requirements for students in the top half of their class and application fees for students who qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lamar CISD and Tarleton State leaders inked the agreement in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPartnering with Lamar CISD ensures that some of the brightest students in Texas have the opportunity for a high-quality university experience,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cThis partnership aligns with our commitment to be a first-choice institution for high school seniors in Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is an amazing opportunity for our students, to receive admission if they graduate in the top 50 percent of their class and gain access to greater scholarship opportunities,\u201d said Anthony Yim, College Career and Military Readiness Coordinator at Lamar CISD. \u201cWe are looking forward to building our relationship with Tarleton State and staying true to our commitment to foster educational excellence, collaboration and generational empowerment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The President\u2019s Guaranteed Scholarship Program assures first-time-in-college students graduating in the top half of their high school class between $500 and $4,000 in scholarships. Students graduating from one of Tarleton State\u2019s Distinguished High School Partners will receive an additional $500 or $1,000. Admitted freshmen must submit a general scholarship application to determine eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
